AFFINBANK Group Spreads Chinese New Year Cheer At Ampang Old Folks Home

KUALA LUMPUR – In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, AFFINBANK Group (“AFFINBANK” or “the Bank”) management and staff today visited the residents of Ampang Old Folks Home, Kuala Lumpur.

Established in 1953, the Ampang Old Folks Home which is located in Ampang New Village is currently housing about 60 elderly folks aged 60 years and above, who do not have any children or family.

Residents of the Home enjoyed a scrumptious buffet lunch together with representatives from AFFINBANK, followed by the distribution of “ang pows” and hampers.

“We are glad to visit this home every year since we started in 2013 to bring some festive cheer to the elderly. Besides that, we always believe in striking a balance between company performance and our social responsibility to the communities,” said En. Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, AFFINBANK.

“Hopefully our visit today will also make them feel happier, in celebrating the year of the Rooster,” he added. 

This Chinese New Year visit to the home marked the beginning of the many charity activities to be carried out by AFFINBANK throughout 2017. Apart from conducting numerous charity events in conjunction with major festivities, the Bank will also conduct a string of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities aimed at giving back to the community and to bring joy to the lives of others.
