Kuala Lumpur – The Malaysian Armed Forces personnel has a special place in the heart of AFFINBANK. Their sacrifices and contributions towards the nation’s peace and security are felt strongly during Ramadhan when these personnel are away from their families and loved ones.

This year, AFFINBANK continues its tradition by contributing cash and kind worth RM100,000 to ensure that armed forces personnel serving overseas can share in the spirit of Ramadhan. AFFINBANK has steadily increased its financial support over previous years, reflecting its role as a model corporate citizen to the military personnel.

“AFFINBANK’s contribution reflects our commitment and appreciation to the armed forces in preserving peace and security, as ambassadors of Malaysia’s rich multi-racial and multi-cultural heritage when serving in overseas missions and as selfless individuals in humanitarian relief operations,” said Chairman of AFFINBANK and AFFINISLAMIC, Gen. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Ismail Omar (Rtd).

Gen. Tan Sri Ismail (Rtd) continued: “We have been consistent contributors to the Armed Forces’ Ramadhan celebrations for the past 4 years. That duration reflects the depth of our relationship and demonstrates our commitment as a responsible corporate citizen to people who place their lives in the front line for our country. This makes the Hari Raya celebrations more meaningful not only to our Armed Forces personnel but also to all Malaysians.”

In addition to these contributions, volunteers from AFFINCare, the charity arm of AFFINBANK, will be packing Hari Raya goodies to ensure that Armed Forces personnel serving overseas will be able to savour them during the festivities.
