WORKING MUM SPEEDS OFF WITH RM300K AND VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI IN AFFINBANK CONTEST
Kuala Lumpur, 18 January 2012 : "I can't believe I won. I'm still in shock, I'm shaking! It's indeed an 'OMG' moment for me!" laughed Suzi Zuliana Zalekan, 31, after finding out she secured the grand prize winner title of Affin Bank Berhad (AFFINBANK) and Affin Islamic's OMG It's Back! Campaign. Suzi drove off a Volkswagen Golf GTI and RM300k cash deposit while second prize winner, Mardziiah Mansor drove away a Toyota Prius and RM120k whereas third prize winner Liew Yen Fui took home a Perodua Myvi and RM60k.
Suzi, a mother of one and serving the Royal Malaysia Air Force at National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM) says she didn’t expect to win. "I opened up an account with AFFINBANK not placing high hopes on winning at all. I was under the impression that only people with a lot of money in their account had the highest chances of winning, so you can imagine my shock," exclaimed Suzi.
The top three winners were all smiles as they received their mock cheques and keys from AFFINBANK Director of Consumer Banking, Idris Abd Hamid at the Bank’s headquarters, Menara Affin at its prize giving ceremony today.
Following the success of its first O.M.G campaign, AFFINBANK's follow up promotion called O.M.G It's Back! ran from 1 June to 31 December 2011. The campaign targeted new and existing Conventional and Islamic Savings, Current and Fixed Deposit Account holders while aiming to encourage new and existing customers to save more with the Bank. To qualify for the contest, a customer only needed to deposit or top up RM500 into any Savings/Current Account or RM2,000 into any Fixed Deposit Account.
"Our first O.M.G was a great success, with over 9.7 million entries," said Idris. "So it was only a matter of time before we returned with a similar campaign. And we knew we had to come back with an 'edge' which would get people buzzing-hence the double prizes this time around," he said.
OMG It's Back! managed to garner over 11.13 million entries and a total of 71,081 new customers. The Bank acquired a deposit growth of RM1.5 billion over the duration of the campaign, in a span of seven months. "Our O.M.G campaigns were opportunities for us to shout out to the public about our products. We will continue to bring our customers exciting campaigns, much like this one, in the future," added Idris.
He further added that in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, customers can take advantage of AFFINBANK's Golden Dragon Prosperity Promotion. The Promotion allows Fixed Deposit customers to enjoy interest rates of up to 3.88%p.a. and also earn extra interest of 0.88%p.a. for Foreign Currency Fixed Deposits. This Promotion lasts from 3 January to 29 February 2012.
